Welcome to My Piano Blog

Healing and Restoration

This is the first piece I actively learned how to play during my first year at Amherst. I was taking an intro music theory course, and one of the components of the final grade was performing an actual piece on the piano. I decided to choose a piece I really like from one of my favorite video games: Song of Healing from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Since I had never played the piano at that point, I had to choose a simplified version of the piece. My professor helped me out with the fingering as well.

Having taken piano lessons for 3 years since then, I decided to learn how to play the original version I wanted to play. At this point I was still regaining my ability to play with both hands at the same time - or hand independence. As such, I only play a third of the piece in the video. That being said, I felt really satisfied with my progress I made. I looked forward coming back next week to see if I make make even better progress.
