After Nearly Two Years

I finally got to play the piano after almost two years on May 3rd, 2025. I remember sitting at work one day wondering if there was some way I could play the piano again now that I finally had a job. I really miss playing on my keyboard that I used for piano lessons in college. The keys stopped working so, I had to through it away and decided to check out if there were any libraries that had music rooms. Fortunately, I found one that lets you reserve them for up to a hour.

I was really excited to play again. I already knew exactly the piece I wanted to play to celebrate the opportunity: Prelude In Ca Major by Bach. I was really rusty, but I still had fun in the half hour it took to learn roughly half of the piece. The cogs were really turning as I was trying to recall the fingerings, I had to restart a couple times until I really got going, and I'm pretty sure dynamics were non-existent. Nonetheless, I was able to play it smoothly and evenly. Playing with the sustain pedal was easiest part.

My schedule can only let me practice once a week, sad to say. I look forward to the day when I can afford a new keyboard so I can practice more often.
